Twitter Starves Search Engines

August 9, 2007

Well, it was bound to happen some time or another…

Twitter decided that it would not be feeding the search engines anymore. I first noticed this yesterday and thought I was seeing things… but nope, looks like it’s here to stay. All links posted inside your tweets now have the dreaded “nofollow” tag embedded into them. Bye bye spider-food!

So I guess Twitter loves you having followers and loves you following others but it doesn’t want the search engines following you. One consolation: Your web URL in your profile can still be indexed. Small consolation.

For those of us that “twitter” because we love it… no skin off our nose!

Twitteroid Twitters

Hello world!

Well with all the buzz going on about twitter and the tons of
opinions out about it (both good and bad) it’s been almost a full time
job keeping track of it all! So much so that I’ve started this blog.

This is where I’ll be keeping track of all things
Twitter that I come across. Thinks like

  • news
  • views
  • plugins
  • tools
  • cool stuff

And naturally, as with all blorgs (<< no spelling error there), you’ll get my opinion too.
