Mastering Twitter In 10 Minutes… Or Less (Version 2)

January 8, 2009

It’s hard to believe that over eighteen months have passed since I first released my Twitter tutorial!

With a new year and the old tutorial getting a bit tatty and outdated I finally sat down and “refurbished” it. And it didn’t just get a new cover! Here are some of the updates in the 2009 version:

    • All the screenshots have been updated to reflect Twitter’s new look
    • New content added
    • Old outdated content removed
    • Revised and updated tips

Download it by clicking on the tutorial’s graphic on the top right of the page.

The original tutorial got rave reviews from people.

Here’s what Larry Chase had to say about it:

If you are new to Twitter, here’s a quick and easy PDF guide to getting started. It covers everything from soup to nuts — how to set up your account and customize your profile page, how to position yourself as a leader and find followers, how to find others of interest to follow and how to use Twitter’s basic commands to send your posts.

There were other good reviews and through no fault but my own I had to do a Google search to find them! Yeah, I neglected this site after I started it because I got busy with other things. But “Twitteroid’s” back now and I’ll be writing more free tutorials and reports for you soon.

Enjoy the tutorial and let me know what you think.

Is Twitter The Next Email Killer?

August 19, 2007

In his latest article for Fast Company Robert Scoble makes an interesting case for the latest Web 2.0 toys and how they will influence us in the years to come. Twitter gets the lion’s share of attention - that it deserves - being the fore-runner of this new online phenomenon.

The most notable insights Robert mentions are the market research and sales opportunities that can be gleaned from services like Twitter that smart marketers, entrepreneurs and big business are letting them slip by. There is one sentence paragraph six that you must read if you’re at all “into marketing.” I won’t repeat that sentence here… just like gold, if you want it you’re going to have to dig for it. You can read the full article here: The Next Email - Twitter - Jaiku - Pownce

Actually, I think that the whole of paragraph six contains important info for both users and marketers. i.e. A privacy point of view and cautionary for users and a goldmine of market research for targeted sales prospecting for business.

Let me know what you think.
